We had the pleasure of hosting this Tuesday, December 19th at ESMA Toulouse, Cécile Steinlein and Estelle Ducarteron of Mikros Animation studio.

They gave a lecture to our students in 3D animation, so we offered them to kindly lend themselves to a small interview.

ESMA: Before starting this interview can you briefly introduce each of your turn?

Hello, I am Cécile Steinlein, currently in charge of communication and school relations at Mikros Animation.
Hello, Estelle Ducarteron, recruiter for Mikros Animation. ESMA:

What do you think of this school?
ESMA offers comprehensive training to students. There is a very good atmosphere within the different promotion. The pupils help each other, they are pleasant and curious: they feel that they have the desire to succeed.

ESMA: Would it be possible for me to summarize what you talked about in your lecture this morning to the students?

We talked about several points:
– Presentation of the VFX studio
– Technicolor – Presentation of Mikros Animation
– Our studios – Our projects delivered – In production
– Our future projects?
– Our organization
– Studio life – How to apply
– Questions answers

ESMA: Have there been more questions than others?

The questions that have often come back have been:
– what to do to integrate the studio
– what is the right timing to apply for internships
– what is the correct format of demoreel that must be sent, must we separate when sending some demoreel following the department
– and what are the expectations of the studio

ESMA: What do you think about ESMA short films generally?

Short films are of a very good standard in general, especially in animation. ESMA trains artists each year who are able to work on large productions.
