The admissions department accompanies international students throughout their process. 

To enrol in Collège Salette/ESMA – École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques, international students must meet the requirements of Immigration, Diversité et Inclusion Québec and Canada’s Immigration and citizenship services.

To study in Quebec, you must obtain a CAQ (Quebec Acceptance Certificate), a valid study permit for the entire training and a VISA (depending on the country of origin).

Request for admission

Before anything else, you must complete a request for admission to our establishment. Here’s how:

● Complete the application form

● Submit a birth certificate

● Submit a copy of your bachelor’s degree or equivalent

● Submit a copy of your most recent academic report cards

Before anything else, you must complete a request for admission to our establishment. Here’s how:

  • Submit a copy of your most recent academic report cards

Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ)

This is a legal document required to study in Quebec. See how to obtain a CAQ here: www.caq-etudes.gouv.qc.ca

Documents required:

● Copy of a valid passport (in effect)

● ID photo

● Letter of admission from Collège Salette/ESMA – École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques

● Payment of $101 fee (by international mandate)

NB: To obtain a CAQ, the student must provide proof of sufficient financial resources (equivalent to $ 11,200 / year).

NB: Processing can take up to 4 weeks.

Study Permit

Permis d'études au Canada

The Study Permit is a compulsory document for students wishing to pursue a course beyond 6 months. Procedures to obtain this document are available through Canada’s Immigration and Citizenship services

Documents required:

● Copy of a valid passport (in effect)

● 6 photo IDs

● Letter of admission from Collège Salette/ESMA – École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques

● Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ)

● Payment of the $125 fee (by international mandate)

NB: To obtain a CAQ, the student must provide proof of sufficient financial resources (equivalent to $ 11,200 / year).

NB: Processing time varies from one visa office to another.

SPECIAL CASES: Students from Germany, Australia, Barbados, Denmark, USA, Finland, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Northern Ireland, must meet the following conditions:

● Be a citizen of one of these countries

● Be a resident of one of these countries

● Be over 16 years of age

● Does not need to undergo a medical examination (have not resided in a country at risk for more than 6 months in the last year)

● Is not accompanied by a family member

● Pay the fees for the request via the online payment system

Entry visa (for certain countries only)

In addition to a study permit, citizens of certain countries must obtain an entry visa to be granted access to Canadian territory. ESMA Montreal registration

Once you are in possession of all the required documents (see step 2, 3 and 4), you must complete your registration at Collège Salette/ESMA – École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques. To do so, please provide us with a copy of your CAQ and study permit, along with a payment of $200. Our teams will then send the registration contract for you to sign.

Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ)

Quebec has mutual agreements with Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Romania and Sweden. Nationals of these countries can join the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) and benefit from social security coverage. The administration team will guide you in this process.

Student housing

It would be advisable to find accommodation before your arrival in Montreal. To support you in this quest, our teams can put you in contact with specialized organizations and with students looking for roommates, or they will provide information on specialized sites.

International Admission

To be admitted to Collège Salette/ESMA – École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques, international students must meet the requirements of Immigration, Diversité et Inclusion Québec and Canada’s Immigration and Citizenship services.

You must hold a Certificate of Acceptance of Quebec (CAQ) and a valid Study Permit for the duration of the training issued by Canada’s Immigration and Citizenship services.

These are simple and accessible formalities that are clearly defined on the websites of Immigration, Diversité et Inclusion Québec and Immigration and Citizenship Canada.

Admission to programs

International students are invited to contact the Admissions Department by e-mail or telephone to obtain the application form. It is also possible to complete the online form in the REGISTER section.

Upon reception of your completed application and school reports, academic report cards, diplomas or other documents to demonstrate your official level of education, we will contact you to follow up on your file. To finalize the registration, you must provide a copy of your birth certificate.

Collège Salette/ESMA – École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques reserves the right to require the candidate to provide an official translation of these documents if they are not produced in one of the official Canadian languages, either in French or in English.
